Jennifer Lynn is a Good-Hearted Woman

(photo by Eric Black) Jennifer's music filled the air between Portland's downtown buildings on July 12th as thousands filled Pioneer Courthouse Square, known as the city's "living room", for Yoshida's Sand in the City benefit for the Kids On The Block Awareness Program. The three-day event drew well over 50,000 people and its first year of musical entertainment was a huge added success! Lynn's second performance of the evening was in the serene setting of Mary S. Young State Park in West Linn, Oregon, for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. With hundreds of walkers returning to the Wellness Village that night, Jennifer delivered a memorable performance. Her sincere gratitude for the event supporters was returned with their smiles and dancing... even after a marathon! Jennifer's set began with covers of Jackson, a duet she performed with lead guitarist, Morgan Pintarich, a jazzy rendition of Crazy, and a Loretta Lynn standard, Honky Tonk Girl, which has become a crowd favorite! She followed up with several original songs like the ballad Chasing Shadows, a song she wrote with her husband two years ago and Good-Hearted Woman, a traditional country song that strongly represents her songwriting abilities. "Lyrically, Good-Hearted Woman is a song about marriage," Lynn explained, "but it's one that really fit at the benefit concerts by representing support for each other." Jennifer Lynn continues to prove she is a sensational vocal talent as she smoothly transcends genres throughout her performances. Her ability to cover traditional country standards and mix them with an increasing repertoire of original country and honky tonk tunes is attracting the attention of local country music listeners.
