DEANA CARTER & HEART TO PREVIEW SONGS OF THE YEAR CONCERT WITH PERFORMANCE ON CBS’ LATE, LATE SHOW WITH CRAIG FERGUSON

LEBANON, TENN (October 23, 2006) – Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. (“Cracker Barrel”) is proud to announce its Songs Of The Year CD will receive national attention October 26 when Deana Carter & Heart perform on CBS’ Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. On the show, Carter & Heart will sing “Go Rest High On That Mountain.” Originally recorded by Vince Gill, this song earned a Grammy Award for Best Country Song and a Country Music Association Song of the Year award.
“This song is just so special because I love Vince Gill’s version,” said Deana Carter during an interview with Kevin Richards, host of “Boot Scootin’ Saturday Night” on Sirius Satellite Radio. “This song is so personal for him and it’s message is so spiritual and hopeful. Plus, I got to record the song with Heart. I’ve been a big fan of Heart for many years and it’s a blessing to do this song with them.”
In addition to The Late, Late Show performance, Carter & Heart will sing the award-winning song at the November 5th Songs Of The Year concert in Nashville. Cracker Barrel and Vector Management are proud to announce Hank Williams, Jr., Josh Turner and Jason Aldean have also joined the impressive concert lineup.

The Songs Of The Year performances will be captured by Great American Country (GAC) and later produced as a two-hour concert special and behind-the scenes documentary. GAC will premiere its Songs Of The Year documentary on November 21 at 8pm. The two-hour Songs Of The Year concert special will premiere January 27th at 9pm.
On sale now at 547 Cracker Barrel locations and online at crackerbarrel.com, the exclusive Songs Of The Year CD features today’s top country artists performing songs that earned “Song of the Year” recognition from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music or Grammy awards.
The “Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Presents Songs Of The Year” concert is part of “Nashville Celebrates Country,” a week of events and activities leading up to “The 40th Annual CMA Awards,” which will be held November 6th and broadcast live on the ABC Television Network (8pm-11pm). The concert is an invitation-only performance; tickets will not be sold to this event.
