CMT Web Site Country.com Offers Items Signed By Country Greats
Nashville, Tenn. - December 18, 2001 - CMT: Country Music Television, in conjunction with its Web site Country.com, continues its support of America's victims of the September 11 disaster with an online benefit auction of autographed items from CMT's live concert special, THE COUNTRY FREEDOM CONCERT, which raised over $5.1 million for the Salvation Army Disaster Relief Fund. The online auction will be held on Country.com, Friday, Dec. 21 through Monday, Dec. 31.
It's one-click shopping for country music fans, as Country.com will serve as web auctioneer for tee shirts, denim jackets and framed posters signed by country music elite including George Strait, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, Hank Williams Jr., Lonestar, Martina McBride, Diamond Rio, Kix Brooks, Ronnie Dunn, Eddie Montgomery, Troy Gentry, keith urban and Sara Evans. Auction items will be on display at Country.com prior to live bidding. To become part of the real-time bidding for the collectible merchandise, log onto the Web site beginning Friday, Dec. 21. The closing offer will be taken on Monday, Dec. 31. The Salvation Army Disaster Relief Fund has served millions of meals to rescue workers since Sept. 11 and Salvation Army volunteers have contributed hundreds of thousands of hours of service since the disaster. The Salvation Army Disaster Relief Fund is also reaching out to families impacted by he tragedy, by loss of life or employment, with emergency financial assistance. Contributions for the ongoing Disaster Relief Fund efforts may still be made at 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
