Waitin' in the Country - 2007 (Arista)

Jason Michael Carroll's debut album already stands out with his first single "Alyssa Lies"; a haunting ballad about child abuse; sung with a smooth baritone voice that has a definite Trace Adkins quality about it.
But, don't let that ballad fool you. Jason rocks his "Country" with foot stomping songs like "Honky Tonk Friends" and "I Can Sleep When I"m Dead"; fun, gritty, "get your feet on the floor" dancing songs.
Jason Michael Carroll"s sensitive ballads are where he shines though, with lyrics that are memorable, real and tug at the heart strings. Each one makes the listener feel like we are peering into his life; in tracks like "Let it Rain", "Love Won"t Let Me" and the duet with Jewel, "No Good In Goodbye".
Jason Michael Carroll doesn't disappoint in this debut album, with his honky tonk, country sound; sung with a honey-dipped, mellow deep voice. "Waitin" In The Country" is going to be just the first in what I think will be a long string of hit albums to come for this young, rising new star.
