It's been almost two years since Emerson Drive released a new album but don't think they've been idle during that time.

With a heavy, hectic; constant cross-country touring schedule, they literally lived in their tour buses; performing electrifying, rockin', fan-packed live concerts.  During this time, these 6 talented young men 'came of age' and have created an album of songs that show us the hearts and souls of Emerson Drive.

In 2001, the band burst out of Canada and shook Nashville's musical foundation, taking it by storm with their fresh, hip, country-rockin' style and mastered, amazing musical arrangements. A memorable "moment" for the group was getting to open for Shania Twain's tour across the country.  Since then, the "moments" just keep coming.

Now, in their new album 'Countrified' on Midas Records, they have put together a collection of songs that will thrill every type of country music lover.  Staying true to their country, foot stomping, get up and dance songs; 'Countrified Soul' shakes, rattles and rolls and 'Testify' is a sheer delight with it's 'signature' Emerson Drive harmonies.

I was most impressed by the 'flip side' of their songs; the straight from the heart ballads. 'Sweet Natural Girl' is a song that has the heartfelt lyrics of a man blissfully in love, a song I'm sure every woman will make sure her man listens to.  But as far as love songs go, 'Everyday Woman', with it's touching praise and moving lyrics, will be the song that both women and men will gravitate to.  Both songs are endearing tributes to love.

The band's versatility shines in 'Painted Too Much Of This Town' and 'You Still Own Me', giving us the 'lost' side of love.

I think by far, the most memorable and heart tugging song is 'Moments', whose lyrics tell us about the memories of a homeless man, how unpredictable life can be and how fast it can unexpectedly change.  It reminds us that every life has a story behind it, even the homeless.

There is something for every country fan in 'Countrified', proving that Emerson Drive is here to stay and have earned a top spot in country music for a long time to come. I certainly give it 5 stars out of 5!
