Nashville, TN - March 10, 2008…Country music sensation Trace Adkins has survived ten weeks on Donald Trump’s fiercely competitive reality series, “The Celebrity Apprentice.” Adkins, now one of five remaining contestants, reveals he really didn’t expect to make it this far in the competiton.

“I figured I’d go up there, hang out a couple of weeks and bring some awareness to my charity. But we got halfway through, and I thought, `You know what? I’ve come up here, I’ve got all my clothes up here, so let’s go ahead and try to win this thing!”’ he says.

On this week’s episode, the celebrities race against the clock to invent and sell a new sandwich for Quiznos. Both teams model their sandwiches after their celebrity image as they scramble to bring in customers off the streets and make the most sales. As the competition progresses, one team runs out of sandwiches, and the other team struggles with customers. In the boardroom, the decisions are becoming more difficult for Donald Trump as he sends one of the last celebrities packing on Thursday, March 13 (9-10 p.m. ET/PT).

Adkins is hoping to use the show’s profile to draw more awareness to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network because his 6-year-old daughter suffers from severe food allergies. Adkins says most people are not aware that more than three million school-age children are afflicted with food allergies and the numbers are increasing each year. In addition to appearing on “The Celebrity Apprentice,” Adkins is also burning up the country charts with his latest Top 5 single, “You’re Gonna Miss This.”
