Tara and Brian

Canadian Idol winner Brian Melo admits to eTalk that he and fellow finalist Tara Oram are indeed a couple, confirming rumours spreading since the end of the Idol season. It's the first time Melo admits to the relationship that has been the subject of speculation for months. Tonight, the Season 5 champ tells eTalk exclusively about the romance:

"I'll set it straight. We are together, we are a couple. I feel like we have something very special".

Since September, the couple has been spending time together regularly as Melo has been hard at work on his debut album (which dropped last week) and Top 3 concert tour, which heads West this week. Having recently joined the Canadian Idol Top 3 in Newfoundland to perform during the tour's St. John's stop, Oram took the opportunity to make the trip with Melo to Hare Bay, NL to meet her family. Oram and Melo have also been seen spending time together in Melo's hometown of Hamilton, ON since Canadian Idol ended at the end of the Summer.

This is the third Canadian Idol romance eTalk has confirmed in the show's five season run. Season Three saw winner Melissa O'Neill and runner-up Rex Goudie unite, and Season Four brought together winner Eva Avila with finalist Chad Doucette.
