Dixie Chicks - When is Enough, Enough?

Talk about SMUG!  Both Emilie and Martie were class acts at the awards but Natalie needed someone to shut her up!  Hasn't she learned yet?????

As most of you know, it takes a lot for me to actually come away from my "copy and paste" routine and write something.... I just don't have the time!  After the country music community was pretty near divided by Natalie's comments in London, I thought things had died down to a quiet roar and people were going about the business of making good music again.  I should have known that wasn't going to happen where Natalie Maines was concerned.

What gave me that impression?  Could it be the F.U.T.K. t-shirt Natalie wore to an award show when things were dying down?  Or possibly the naked cover photo when things were dying down again????  It seems the Dixie Chicks aren't happy when people get back to business and aren't talking about how disgusted they are with them.

Then things were pretty well back to normal for everyone except the Dixie Chicks of course.  Tour dates had to be cancelled because of poor ticket sales and radio had pretty well banned their songs from the airwaves.  Were they giving the "pot" another stir with the release of "Not Ready to Make Nice"?.....

I can certainly understand Natalie's frustation at the extremists who probably have threatened to do harm to the Chicks and their families.  It's a very frightening prospect but perhaps Natalie should have thought of that when she showed non-support of her country. The threats couldn't have been that bad though because she sure wasn't afraid to continue her rude comments on the Grammy stage in front of an audience of millions.

Instead of being happy for winning 5 awards for an excellent album, Natalie continued to throw digs in every chance she got.  I was sick of the smug looks she was dishing out like Christmas candy.  I guess rude is the only thing that she can be because she sure doesn't have the presence to look or sound intelligent on the stage when she's not singing.  When she was "talking", her speech was filled with pauses, oh's, um's and trash.  Maybe that's why the sisters basically hid her one time on the stage and perhaps that's why she has been told to "shut up and sing"!!!!!

But I guess all the press is what keeps them in the limelight.  Can't wait to hear their next album!!!!!!
