I just received the following email in reply to a newsletter I sent out to my mailing list to wish everyone a "Happy Holiday".
I just checked out your greeting to everyone who subscribes by email to That's Country.
Interesting....what ever happened to "Merry Christmas?"

I do celebrate Christmas, but what if I were Jewish and celebrated Hanukah not Christmas? Should I simply ignore the fact there are many different religions in this world and just send my greeting to those who share my religion? Or.... I could spend a week and make up cards for every religion going and offend everyone on my list when I send them a multitude of greetings in every religion or non-religion known to mankind in order "not to offend anyone"!
Or.... I could add a space to put your religion when you sign up for my mailing list. Then I can have a separate mailing list for each religion, in which case, I could be sued for discrimination.
Why stop there? I'll delete all of the artists from my website who fans have emailed me they don't like....
What happened? I don't have any artists left on my website but I'm not offending anyone now except for the true country music fans who are just interested in good music and they have gone to other sites where good music and the talented artists are appreciated.
I think I'll just stick to my politically correct "Season's Greetings" so I can send my best wishes to all of you, continue to add good music to my website and leave the bickering to those who haven't got anything better to do.
