CANADA’S MOST EXCITING ACTS SET TO HIT THE STREETS OF CALGARY DURING JUNOFEST

Two-day music festival will feature diverse artists such as Belly,

Little Miss Higgins, Pride Tiger, The Dudes and The Sadies

among nearly 70 artists confirmed to-date

 

Calgary, AB (February 27, 2008) - The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) held a media conference today to announce the exciting line-up of local events slated for Juno Awards Weekend set to kick-off on April 3 rd , 2008. Among the events announced is the highly anticipated JunoFest, a two-night music extravaganza happening Friday, April 4 th and Saturday, April 5 th , each night from 9 p.m. – 2 a.m. (MST).

JunoFest will feature a multitude of acts including indie artists, hometown favourites and JUNO Award nominees across-the-board performing at various venues in downtown Calgary.

“There’s nothing like the live experience of seeing your favourite band light up the stage, and with scores of artists participating, there’s a good chance of discovering new favourites along the way during JunoFest,” said Melanie Berry, CARAS President.

JunoFest wristbands are $30 and will go on sale Saturday, March 1 st at 10 a.m. (MST) at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.ca  or by calling 403-777-0000.  Patrons must be 18 years of age and older to attend.  JunoFest wristbands offer priority entry and are subject to capacity.
