April 2nd, 2007 – On Saturday night Canadian country artist George Canyon took home his second Juno Award for Country Recording of the Year. Canyon, who won the award two years ago for his One Good Friend album, this year won for Somebody Wrote Love, which was released in July 2006 by Universal Music Canada.

“Once again I'm humbled by God’s grace and the support of my fans,â€‌ says Canyon. “It’s such an honour to receive this award from my industry peers.â€‌

Canyon, who accepted the award at Saturday night’s awards dinner in Saskatoon, also presented an award on Sunday night’s CTV television broadcast and participated in both Juno Fest and The Juno Cup.

His latest single, “I Want You to Live,â€‌ is currently in the top 10 on the Canadian Country charts at radio and the video is in rotation at CMT Canada. The clip, which features members of the Canadian Forces, has been warmly received for its portrayal of the sacrifices that military families make. Canyon performed for Canadian troops in Afghanistan in 2006.

In addition to the Juno Awards and his hit video, Canyon will be appearing on Showcase’s Trailer Park Boys upcoming season.
