George Canyon to Appear in Two Episodes Of Trailer Park Boys
On Sunday June 3rd the first of two episodes of Trailer Park Boys featuring country star George Canyon will air on Showcase at 9pm ET/PT. The second episode airs June 10th in the same timeslot. Canyon and folk/roots artist and good friend Dave Gunning play forest rangers on the episode. Canyon has known Mike Smith, who stars as Bubbles on the series since they were both in high school. Though they did not attend the same school, they competed against each other in a battle of the bands and have stayed in touch over the years. When Canyon filmed his video for "Drinkin' Thinkin'" in 2006 he knew that Smith's Bubbles character would be perfect for a starring role in the clip. The video was a huge success on CMT Canada and Smith returned the favour by inviting Canyon to appear on his show, which was taped in late 2006. Currently receiving airplay across Canada with his hit single, "I Want You to Live," Canyon is a well-known voice in country music. His video for the song hit number one on the CMT Canada Chevy Top 20 in May and remained on top for two weeks in a row. A two-time Juno Award winner for Country Recording of the Year, he has concert dates scheduled in North America and Europe throughout the summer.
