GEORGE STRAIT IS COUNTRY MUSIC'S ULTIMATE ENTERTAINER WITH HIS 54TH NUMBER ONE HIT
Nashville, Tenn. (Feb. 15, 2007) - George Strait is in a league all his own. In fact, if any artist in country music is asked what kind of music career they hope for, you'll hear time and again, "I want a career like George's!" It's no wonder - The indisputable King of Country Music just landed his 54th number one hit this week with "It Just Comes Natural." It evidently does and if that isn't enough, Strait's recently certified platinum album of the same name makes his 32nd and continues his record of having the most certified platinum albums in the history of country music. Strait is the third most certified artist of all genres after Elvis and The Beatles. The recent Hall of Fame Inductee continues doing what comes naturally by selling out arenas and shattering venue records across the country at multiple stops along his 2007 tour. With more than 62 million records sold, 54 No. 1 songs (Strait is Billboard's all-time leader for No. 1 country singles), 74 top 10 and 78 top 20 hits, the Texas Troubadour has a gold mine of music to thrill audiences and have them begging for more. Throughout his career, George Strait has received more than 40 major entertainment industry awards and countless nominations. George Strait has had 65 Country Music Association nominations. He was the CMA "Vocalist of the Year" five times and the only artist in history to be so honored in two different decades.
