NASHVILLE, TENN. - Rising country music star Jason Aldean joins a full-throttle mix of country and rock artists to help gaming giant Electronic Arts, Inc. launch its highly anticipated new game NASCAR 08 due in stores August 8.  Aldean was hand picked to perform his guitar-driven set including his fist pumping smash hits "Hicktown" and "Johnny Cash" for the exclusive press unveiling of the new game on Monday, July 23 in New York City.

jason aldeanAldean's current Top 10 single "Johnny Cash" helps set the backdrop for the racing experience, speaking directly to NASCAR's growing and diverse fan base that is rooted in country but has recently seen a surge of urban enthusiasts. Other adrenaline driven cuts included on the official soundtrack include new music from Velvet Revolver, Brooks & Dunn, Big & Rich and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, among others.   The music from the soundtrack is also being offered separately through EA's music site at www.ea.com/eatrax/.

" 'Johnny Cash' is definitely best heard cranked up loud, driving in a fast car on a two lane road," says Aldean.  "It's a great fit for this new NASCAR game.   We got an advance copy for the bus and our summer tournament has officially started!"

NASCAR 08 is the 10th edition of the official NASCAR racing game and features two-time NEXTEL NASCAR CUP Series champion Tony Stewart on the cover.  This marks the franchise debut on next generation systems including Playstation 3 and Xbox 360

Aldean recently topped Billboard's Country Albums Chart when his sophomore effort debuted at No. one.   The award winning Georgia native is currently on the road with superstar group Rascal Flatts through the end of the year on their "Still Feels Good" tour.  For upcoming appearances and tour date, visit the newly relaunched www.jasonaldean.com
