It will be a busy Juno weekend for Shane Yellowbird as he participates in five major Juno festivities.

The Country Recording of the Year nominee will begin his awards weekend by hosting an In Store performance at Play Entertainment at Calgary Eaton Centre Stage Friday April 4th at 12:30 pm which will feature a live performance followed by an autograph session.

Friday evening Shane will strap on the gear and take to the ice sporting jersey number 79 for the Juno Cup where he will join fellow musicians as they face off against hockey legends Lanny McDonald, Doug Gilmour, Jamie Macoun, Bob Probert, Russ Courtnall, Mark Napier, and Paul Coffey. The Juno Cup will take place at The Stampede Corral at 7:30 pm and is a fundraiser to benefit MusiCan, the charitable arm of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS).

Shane's night doesn't end there however. Later that evening Shane will trade his skates for his cowboy boots as he takes the stage at the Aboriginal Music Celebration, a mosaic of 2008 Aboriginal Juno Award nominees and key Aboriginal artists. The event will take place at the historic Grand Theatre at 8:00 pm, with Shane taking the stage at 9:00 pm.

Since his fans hold a special place in his heart, Shane will take part in Saturday's Juno Fan Fare at the University of Calgary Olympic Oval. Appearing from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Yellowbird fans can line up to collect autographs and pictures with Alberta's big dimpled cowboy.

After some much needed rest, Shane will head to Sunday night's national televised award show where he is not only hoping to accept the award for Country Recording of the Year but is performing on stage with his fellow nominees in a tribute to Canada's heartland of country music, and this year's host city, Calgary, Alberta. Other star-studded performers on the CTV broadcast include Avril Lavigne, Feist, Finger Eleven, Hedley, Michael Bublé, and Anne Murray.

With the Juno weekend festivities behind him, Shane will return to the road April 7th to resume his Western Canadian tour with Paul Brandt with stops in Medicine Hat, Kelowna, Chilliwack, and Victoria.
