Adkins’ Latest Single Holds Top Spot On Country Charts For Three Weeks In A Row

Nashville, TN -- It's been a good year, indeed,  as country star TRACE ADKINS said from the stage after winning the coveted belt buckle statue and fan voted Male Video of the Year Award at last night's 2008 CMT Music Awards.

Upon accepting the award, Adkins remarked, "I'm having a really good year – it’s been great so far. I've never felt support from the fans like I'm feeling it this year. I know this award is voted on by the fans, so I really appreciate it."

"Thank you fans for voting for me, the people I was up against in this category are huge stars and I can't believe I won this thing." -Trace Adkins

The hilarious video for "I Got My Game On," where Adkins portrays a love doctor, received three big wins overall -- including Male Video of the Year, Supporting Character of the Year for guest star Rodney Carrington, and Video Director of the Year for Michael Salomon.

2008 couldn’t be better for Adkins, whose career spans more than a decade. He recently was one of two finalists on the hit reality series, "The Celebrity Apprentice," he'll be featured in two upcoming independent films, "Trailer Park of Terror" and "American Carol," and his latest single, "You’re Gonna Miss This," has spent three weeks at number one.

Adkins also took the opportunity to thank country radio, saying "I may not get another chance, so I'm going to say it right now, I'd like to thank country radio for giving me my first three-week #1 song. I've never had that before, so thank you very much."

Adkins is heading out on his extended 2008 American Man tour this week and is planning to release his eighth studio album in the fall.
