Crystal Shawanda’s “You Can Let Go” Celebrates Impressive Impact Date With 20+ First-Week Stations

Nashville, TN – RCA Nashville recording artist Crystal Shawanda recently impressed Entertainment Weekly’s Chris Willman who described her as a “winner” at this year’s Country Radio Seminar.   On EW.com, Willman explains, “…she’s got a tearjerker of a single in the just-released “You Can Let Go,” which might put a lump in the throat of anyone who’s ever been a father or daughter. The rest of her material was up-tempo, feisty, and a little bluesy…”

Crystal’s first single, “You Can Let Go,” had a notable impact date at country radio with 20+ stations already playing the track during its debut week.   The single, which tells the emotional story of an incredible bond between a father and daughter, was at the top of the most-added lists for both country radio charts and had the most first-week stations on impact date for a solo female debut since the inception of the Mediabase Addboard.

Crystal Shawanda, a Native American and citizen of both the U.S. and Canada, was born in Ontario and grew up on the Wikwemikong reservation on Canada’s Manitoulin Island.   During hard times, Crystal has always turned to her music, which she credits for saving her life. Her debut album, Dawn Of A New Day (which in the language of her native Ojibwe tribe is the translation of her last name, Shawanda), was produced by Scott Hendricks and will be released this summer.   “You Can Let Go” was written by Cory Batten, Kent Blazy and Rory Lee Feek.
