Nashville, TN - February 11, 2008... Country star Trace Adkins is proving to be quite the marketing genius on NBC's hit reality series, "The Celebrity Apprentice."
For two weeks in a row, he has caught the attention of Trump and his celebrity teammates by coming up with the perfect slogan for the challenge. On last week's episode, both teams were faced with creating a living window display, showcasing a Serta mattress designed by famous designer, Vera Wang. Adkins came up with the perfect catch phrase, “The World’s Greatest Romance Deserves the World's Greatest Mattress.” He then took it a step further by suggesting they use one of the world's greatest love stories, Cleopatra and Marc Antony, for their display. The women went with a bridal theme and lost the contest, resulting in TV Executive Nely Galen being fired.
On this week's Valentine's Day episode, Trump switches up the competing teams and rivals Piers Morgan and Omarosa are forced to work side by side for the challenge. Sparks fly and the competition gets personal as they viciously attack each other throughout the task, with Piers attempting to fire Omarosa. Each team is asked to operate a horse and carriage business in New York's Central Park. It will be smooth sailing for one team that attracts brisk business, while the other team falls apart at the seams.
Country star John Rich (Big & Rich) stops by to help Adkins raise money for charity. Other guest stars include Billy Baldwin and Jenna Jameson. In the boardroom, Piers Morgan and Omarosa continue their fight in front of Donald Trump and in the end, another celebrity is fired on Thursday, February 14 (9:00 PM – 10:00 PM ET/PT).
"The Celebrity Apprentice" is television's #1 Thursday series in adults 18-49 for the first quarter to date, averaging 9.3 million viewers overall. The series is up substantially versus "The Apprentice 6" and the celebrity version has been picked up for an additional season in 2009.
