NASHVILLE, Tennessee - Singer, songwriter, recording artist Chris Cagle (Capitol Records-Nashville) will participate in a television taping this week for a special series to air on RFD-TV.

Coinciding with Chris's rigorous country music entertainment schedule, over the last three years and several months, he has embarked in another venture.  His second love to his music—the horse business.

Chris currently owns a handful of performance quarter horses that range in disciplines from cutting, reining and working cow horses.  Though, due to his touring schedule, Chris has not personally competed in national equine sporting events, his first venture in the business proved to be profitable. His first purchase of a stud colt [He's A Majestic Chic] won the intermediate open at the Quarter Horse Congress (2006) and, in the meantime, Chris has managed to breed proven bloodline mares to raise champion foals.  In his endeavor to become a better horseman, Chris has become an admirer, student and friend of horse clinician Clinton Anderson [of the equine famed Downunder Horsemanship Training Program].

Clinton Anderson became the first horse trainer to launch a "made-for-TV" weekly training program broadcast on satellite television. Clinton's original hour-long Downunder Horsemanship television show is filmed on location at top ranches and at Clinton's home facility in Belle Center, OH.  The show airs on RFD-TV [Channel 231 on Dish Network/Channel 379 on Direct TV].  The use of untrained horses and a variety of topics covering common problems faced by horse owners has made Clinton's show the network's most popular equine program.

Cagle and Anderson are teaming up this week to film what will be a special television presentation on RFD-TV. Chris and Clinton will work from the ground up to break ("start") Chris's two-year old quarter horse gelding.  The series of shows will feature Chris Cagle music and music videos ["Laredo"/"Chicks Dig It"/"Beautiful Day"/"Miss Me Baby"] and is scheduled to air in September.  (Check RFD-TV listings.)

"Clinton works with care and an undeniable power to educate horses and their owners," said Cagle. "He's been an inspiration to me; his technique is natural and non-evasive, and I'm confident both the colt and I will come out of this better beings."

This week marks a break in Chris's schedule.  In addition to his multi-city shows this spring, Chris has spent the last several weeks in the studio working on his fourth Capitol-Nashville recording project with veteran producer Scott Hendricks.  Hendricks is responsible for Chris's signing with Virgin Records to launch his country music career.  A late fall CD release is anticipated.
