Nashville, TN --- March 2, 2007 --- Country superstar Josh Turner has been certified DOUBLE PLATINUM with his sophomore release YOUR MAN on MCA Nashville. Just three of the country albums released in 2006 have reached this benchmark; Rascal Flatts’ ME AND MY GANG, Dixie Chicks’ LONG WAY HOME and Josh Turner’s YOUR MAN, earning him a spot along side two of the biggest bands in the world.
The traditionalist with the one-of-a-kind voice has sold over 3 MILLION records to date, just three hit singles into his career. The title cut of his first album “Long Black Train” introduced the rising star to the country audience and earned Turner his first platinum album. Now, with back to back multi week #1 hits, a #1 album, two Grammy nominations and a DOUBLE PLATINUM certification, YOUR MAN has turned him into a force to be reckoned with and a bonafide country superstar.
A solid year after release, YOUR MAN remains in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart. While his current single, a duet with Ralph Stanley, “Me And God,” is climbing the chart poised to break into the Top 20.
In lock step with the biggest artists in the genre Turner earned a nomination this week for CMT Music Awards Male Video Of The Year. His fellow nominees include superstars Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Toby Keith.
With an instantly recognizable voice that has earned him comparisons to legends Johnny Cash and George Jones, it is clear that Turner has the talent to go the distance.
