Phil Vassar's star continues to rise in 2007 as ongoing critical acclaim praises him for his innate songwriting abilities and addictive, enthusiastic performances.   He has already had a string of sell-out shows on the east coast this year as well as the upcoming back-to-back concerts in Chicago on February 23 and 24.   His album, "Greatest Hits Volume 1" landed on top 10 of 2006 lists by the New York Times, Pittsburgh Post Gazette and CMT and he was named 2006 NSAI Songwriter/Artist Of The Year.   Phil returns to the studio this winter to record a new album of original material that will be released in 2007.

"['Phil Vassar Greatest Hits Volume 1'] is one of the year's most listenable country albums. Phil Vassar is both a winsome singer and a successful songwriter." NEW YORK TIMES Dec. 1, 2006

"Phil Vassar has the talent of a legend." -- CHICAGO TRIBUNE July 4, 2006

"His performance was a hurricane of sound and the guy is a pro when it comes to connecting with the audience." -- ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER October 15, 2006

"Vassar is one of the unique sounds in country music, his songs anchored by his driving piano. [He] has carved out his own distinctive sound." -- DENVER POST July 20, 2006

"As usual, it was a crowd-pleasing party pulsating like a maniac love fest. If there was an efficient way to harness Vassar's energy, we wouldn't be at the mercy of [Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries]." -- MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL July 4, 2006

"The fire and energy of a young Jerry Lee Lewis...and enough sex appeal to light up a concert stage." -- PITTSBRGH POST GAZETTE December 28, 2006

"...there's no better performer in the business." -- TOLEDO BLADE August 3, 2006

"He is one of Nashville's hot properties.  Energetic and funny, Vassar is a magnetic personality with the material to back it up." -- HARRISBURG PATRIOT NEWS January 20, 2007

"Being a piano man in country music is less common than the typical steel guitar playin', banjo pickin', fiddle bowin' assortment of country musicians, but Vassar is hot, and his fingers know how to work the ivories as well as such other famous piano players in the commercial music world as Elton John and Billy Joel.  Living room or arena show, Vassar still gives audiences a thrill during each performance, whether dancing onstage or on pianos." -- SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE  October 6, 2006

"Vassar has carved out a satisfying niche in the country music world by blending autobiographical material and fantasy to take listeners from childhood through adolescence and into middle age." -- BANGOR DAILY NEWS April 28, 2006

"A charismatic and frenetic Vassar was all over his piano < flopped across it, spinning on top of it and hopping on and off it like it was an Olympic sport." -- GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE January 1, 2006

"There are really only a few themes in country music -- drinking and failed romance at the top of the list, of course -- so the trick to standing out isn't in the songs themselves as much as it is the delivery of those songs. And that's what makes Phil Vassar unique. Vassar is a hyperkinetic ball of nonstop moving parts. Vassar is doing what he wants with his career and, right now, it's what the people want, too." -- LOWELL SUN April 2, 2006

"Vassar < a piano player, a rarity in contemporary country circles < is (sic) one of the genre's brightest stars."  -- LANCASTER INTELLIGENCER JOURNAL January 19, 2007

"Partying might as well be Phil Vassar's middle name."  -- IOWA PRESS-CITIZEN December 28, 2006
