Nashville, TN -November 27, 2006 - Country blues rocker Steve Azar has been invited to perform four additional concerts on one of the biggest and most anticipated tours of the year - Bob Seger & Silver Bullet Band Tour. Azar will open sold-out shows on Dec. 20, 22, 28 and 30th at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Seger’s hometown of Detroit, MI.
With his soulful, bluesy voice and high-energy stage presence, Azar delivered crowd- pleasing performances at each stop of the tour throughout November, receiving standing ovations and winning over rock and country music critics in every city where he performed.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported, “Opening act Steve Azar is a country cat who might seem like an unlikely warm-up for Seger on several levels. On stage, however, he proved to be a whole lot closer to Bruce Springsteen than George Jones, winning over the Bradley Center crowd with high energy rockers like "The Underdog" and "Goin' to Beat the Devil."
The Flint Journal also wrote, “Azar’s show is very good and a natural mix of styles.”
Earlier this month, it was announced that Azar would kick-off the tour with Seger thru Nov. 20, when Azar heads out on the GAC Country Music Christmas Tour running thru December 18.
Azar will release a new album called Indianola on January 30, 2007. The debut single, “You Don’t Know A Thing,” is his latest hit, with the video featuring good friend and golf pro, John Daly, airing on CMT, GAC and various other music video channels. ExxonMobil continues to serve as sponsors for Azar’s tour dates. For more of the latest news and concert information, visit www.steveazar.com
