LEBANON, TENN (November 20, 2006) – Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. (“Cracker Barrel”) will see its exclusive music program taken to new heights on November 21st as Great American Country (GAC) broadcasts The Making of Cracker Barrel Songs Of The Year. This “behind-the-scenes” documentary includes performances and interviews filmed during the Songs Of The Year concert that took place earlier this month.

Premiering Tuesday, November 21 at 8pm EST on GAC, the documentary features Trace Adkins singing Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down, Lonestar’s version of City Of New Orleans and Trisha Yearwood & Michael McDonald performing I Still Believe In You. The documentary will air several times in December and preview GAC’s two-hour Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Presents Songs Of The Year concert special that premieres January 27th, 2007.

Available exclusively at Cracker Barrel locations and online at crackerbarrel.com, the Songs Of The Year CD features today’s country superstars performing songs that earned “Song of the Year” recognition from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music or Grammy awards. Many of the artists joined the Songs Of The Year concert lineup to honor these songs before a live audience.

“What’s so incredible is seeing musicians like Heart and Michael McDonald embracing country music,” said Dean Sams of Lonestar. “That’s what this concert is all about: great songs and great acts putting their best foot forward, and putting their own spin on some great songs.”

“Cracker Barrel and country music. Those two things go together like peas and carrots,” said Lonestar’s Richie McDonald. “This concert is as big as an awards show. We were backstage and saw Ronnie Milsap, Hank Williams Jr., Lorrie Morgan and Heart. This is something we can all reflect on because we’re paying tribute to these great songs.”

In addition to the artists already mentioned, the show featured powerful performances by Merle Haggard, Josh Turner, Billy Currington, The Wreckers, Deana Carter, Jo Dee Messina, Jason Aldean, Josh Gracin, Jack Ingram, Eric Church and Jypsi.

Trace Adkins and Desperate Housewives star Jamie Denton hosted the concert. Prior to the show, Adkins reflected on the songwriting that makes this music so special. “In this show, these are all songs of the year. They are all jewels,” said Adkins. “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down paints this vivid picture and you can see the whole thing playing out in your mind. The beauty of songwriting is taking an ordinary event, an ordinary moment in time that we’ve all experienced, and making it poetic. That’s songwriting at its best.”
