CMT CANADA COUNTS DOWN THE DAYS TO CHRISTMAS

WITH A BLIZZARD OF HOLIDAY PROGRAMMING

 

CMT is counting the days to Christmas with a stocking full of festive specials, movies and themed episodes of viewers’ favourite CMT series.

With episodes of popular comedies such as Reba, Hope & Faith, Married with Children and Roseanne CMT is putting an added sparkle on this year’s seasonal broadcast schedule.

Beginning Monday, December 17, viewers can enjoy holiday programming 24-7. Highlights include:

 

Monday, December 17 – JASON McCOY: ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT

Jason McCoy: All Through the Night follows The Road Hammers’ leading man Jason McCoy on his endeavour to record a Christmas album live-off-the-floor on a cold and blustery Christmas Eve. From rehearsal to performance, McCoy and friends record a mix of traditional and original holiday music against the backdrop of a turn-of-the-century rural mansion. This one-hour special airs Monday, December 17 at 10 p.m. (r) Sunday, December 23 at 10 p.m.

 

Tuesday, December 18 – PAUL BRANDT’S CHRISTMAS IN BANFF

The picturesque mountain town of Banff , Alberta plays host to a one-of-a-kind outdoor Christmas concert on a snowy winter’s night. Canadian country superstar Paul Brandt takes centre stage and is joined by guests Aaron Lines and Greg Sczebel. Shot in HD, Paul Brandt’s Christmas in Banff paints a nostalgic portrait of Christmas in a small village as townspeople gather, warmed by outdoor fires along the Bow River . This one-hour special will air Tuesday, December 18 at 10 p.m. (r) Saturday, December 22 at 8 p.m.

 

Wednesday, December 19 – TOTALLY CHRISTMAS

Watch some of country’s biggest names talk about their most memorable Christmas moments and songs in this special one-hour holiday episode of CMT’s popular series Totally airing Wednesday, December 19 at 7 p.m. (r) Friday, December 21 at 6 p.m.

 

Thursday, December 20 – ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS VIDEOS WITH GEORGE CANYON

CMT’s series Ultimate dedicates one hour to country music star George Canyon this holiday season by showcasing his favourite Christmas music videos. Ultimate Christmas Videos with George Canyon airs Thursday, December 20 at 6 p.m. (r) Saturday, December 22 at 6 p.m.

 

Friday, December 21 – CHEVY TOP 20 CHRISTMAS

As Santa climbs down the chimney, who’s climbing up the charts? CMT’s Chevy Top 20 is counting down the 20 biggest holiday videos. Host Casey Clarke has it all by the numbers, with some cool artist tidbits along the way. This special holiday-themed Chevy Top 20 airs Friday, December 21 at 7 p.m. (r) Saturday, December 22 at 11 a.m. (r) Sunday, December 23 at 6 p.m.

 

Saturday, December 22 – LIVE & UP FRONT: DOC WALKER

Live & Up Front with the boys from Doc Walker gives fans an intimate look into the lives of bandmates Chris Thorsteinson, Dave Wasyliw and Murray Pulver. This holiday season, viewers can watch Doc Walker perform Christmas classics in this special episode Saturday, December 22 at 5 p.m. (r) Monday, December 24 at 7 p.m.  

 

Sunday, December 23 – HOME ALONE (Premiere)

In this John Hughes holiday adventure, young Kevin McAllister (Macaulay Culkin) is accidentally left home alone while his family rushes to the airport for their Parisian Christmas vacation. Taking his family’s home into his own hands – Kevin has himself his own vacation. His delight ends up crashing when he comes in contact with two criminals, Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern). Meanwhile, when Kevin’s mother (Catherine O’Hara) discovers he was left behind, she has her own adventure as she tries to head back home to Chicago . As part of Big Screen Sundays the network premiere of Home Alone will air Sunday, December 23 at 8 p.m.

 

Monday, December 24 – SONS OF MISTLETOE (Premiere)

Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) is an heiress who returns to her home town to sell off all her estranged father’s belongings – including a boy’s orphanage. Run by a gentle man who grew up there, will the foster home survive? This heartwarming special airs Monday, December 24 at 10 p.m.

 

Tuesday, December 25 – THE CHRISTMAS SHOES (Premiere)

Two separate stories come together in this holiday film inspired by the holiday song of the same name. In the first story, teacher Maggie Andrews (Kimberly Williams) is suffering from a heart condition, and her son wants to find a pair of Christmas shoes for her before she dies. The second story follows lawyer Robert Layton (Rob Lowe) and his wife Kate as their relationship slowly falls apart. When Kate supply-teaches for Maggie and Robert’s mother passes away, their stories come together in a poignant finale. The Christmas Shoes will air on Christmas Day at 9 p.m. preceded by a day filled with Christmas music – only on CMT.
