(March 31, 2008 – Toronto, Canada) CMT Canada presents the exclusive Canadian broadcast of the 2008 CMT Music Awards on Monday, April 14 at 8 p.m.  Airing live from Nashville and hosted by nominee Billy Ray Cyrus and his daughter, teen sensation Miley Cyrus, the awards promise to be better than ever, with more video categories, more live performances and more country music stars!

To kick the night off, CMT Canada will bring Canadian viewers the Best of CMT Music Awards beginning at 5 p.m. This two-hour presentation features the very best performances and special moments in the history of the CMT Music Awards. A one-hour pre-show party will begin at 7 p.m. with all the star-studded red carpet action live from Nashville.

Featured performances for this year’s awards include: Alan Jackson, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift and Sugarland. The nominees this year illustrate country music's growth and broadened appeal, including country favourites Brad Paisley, up for six awards this year, plus Sugarland, LeAnn Rimes, Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift.

There are some category-bending nominations, too, with Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant’s  nomination for “Gone, Gone, Gone (Done Moved On)”, his duet with Alison Krauss, and Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander’s nomination for his performance in Brad Paisley’s “Online” video, which he also directed.
