I think Paul was as nervous as I was, since he tends to shy away from the public eye. Paul spends most of his time writing songs, working on his farm just outside of Nashville, hunting, or working with the ministry of Samaritan's Purse.  Paul has still found time, though, to run a record label (Scarlet Moon Records) and record two new albums, A SONGWRITER'S PROJECT/VOL.1 and LIVING BY THE BOOK. Over a period of two hours, I got to know this wonderful person a lot better, as he told us about himself. He talked about his family (wife of 14 years, Julie, and their six children, Nash, 13; Summer, 12; Chord, 10; Harmony, 9; Skye, 6; and Charity, 4 months old) with such pride in his voice but still very private about them. He had countless stories about his life's experiences, which he told with humour and honesty (see biography). You would never have known that this quiet, unassuming man had written some of country music's best songs (Keith Whitley's WHEN YOU SAY NOTHING AT ALL; Randy Travis' FOREVER AND EVER AMEN, ON THE OTHER HAND, DIGGIN' UP BONES, DEEPER THAN THE HOLLER, and NO PLACE LIKE HOME; Tanya Tucker's ONE LOVE AT A TIME, and I WON'T TAKE LESS THAN YOUR LOVE; and The Judds' LOVE CAN BUILD A BRIDGE are some of his songs).  When you listen to his music, you just know that a loving, gentle spirit penned them.  One of Paul's songs is also on Kenny Chesney's new CD, "Everywhere We Go" (BNA) called, "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy".
